Background

I am currently YPG Rep for Berkshire, a role which I share with Antony Parker. I have been with the Berkshire committee for two years.Prasanya Sahadevan

I was a student member of the BCS while doing a degree in Computing at Oxford Brookes University but did not really get involved until I graduated in 2002 and started working for PepsiCo International. I mainly work in the software development area but also provide technical support for our business intelligence area.

At Berkshire branch we are currently evolving ourselves to provide more events and activities for our members. As the YPG contingent, myself and Antony, contribute by promoting event ideas we believe will appeal to our YPG members, our biggest driver being opportunities to network.

The best thing about being involved with the committee is you get to really contribute to how the branch runs and by doing so get the opportunity to meet lots of different people. As someone fairly new to the industry it is an excellent way to develop contacts and improve the softer skills outside of your job.

We are always looking for more enthusiastic volunteers to help make the branch better, as well as suggestions for events, so if you'd like to get involved or just have an idea you'd like to chat about please come along to an event or email us.
